Why does The Way Intensive exist?
We’ve sensed a hunger at Ethos to go deeper in discipleship. To grow in our spiritual formation for the sake of others.
Our vision as a church is to see every person be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. But in order to practice the way of Jesus in Columbus, we need one another. We have a biblical conviction at Ethos that it’s actually impossible to follow Jesus in isolation.

So, we’ve created The Way Intensive – a ten week journey rooted in community designed to dive into our core beliefs and deepen our theology, grow in our spiritual practices, and cultivate the friendships that are vital to following Jesus and seeking his Kingdom in Columbus.

What does The Way Intensive include?
Each evening of The Way Intensive will consist of rich and relevant teaching content that has been tailored for our church, group discussion, and space to cultivate friendships. We will have light refreshments together, but be sure to eat dinner beforehand.
While some of the teaching themes may sound familiar, The Way Intensive will go into more depth, and consider them within our challenging cultural context. Our learning will be rooted in a deep exploration of our core beliefs, spiritual practices that guide our life with God, and how we practice the way of Jesus together at Ethos.
Throughout our ten weeks together, there will be space to talk through your learning in a small group of friends. There will also be study and practices to be completed at home by each participant as part of their commitment to grow. We don’t just want to provide information; we want to process it and walk it out together – and to make space in our lives for God to work in us.
Who is this for?
The Way Intensive is for everyone who is part of Ethos Church and defines themselves as a committed follower of Jesus.
Whether you’ve been following Jesus for a few months – or many years – this course is designed to equip you to go deeper in discipleship.
Where and when does it take place?
The Way Intensive is a 10 week long journey beginning on September 15 and will be hosted at Ethos + Co Cafe (6576 Africa Rd) on Monday nights from 6:30pm-8:30pm.
What’s the next step after The Way Intensive?
As a church, we’re not interested in simply running programs, but becoming people of love who impact the world around us for the glory of God.
But how does this actually happen?
Spiritual formation, or becoming more like Jesus, is a lifelong process that requires the work of the Holy Spirit and involves learning, practice, and community.
So, we’re not suggesting that The Way Intensive is the end-all-be-all of discipleship.
It is simply a helpful tool for us on our journey of following Jesus that serves as the on-ramp to become a part of an Ethos Community.

Ethos Communities are the heart of how we live life together as a family here at Ethos and practice the way of Jesus together.
We believe the Church is not another sub-culture, but the making of a new humanity. It’s not a building or a weekend activity, but a people. We strive to live out the Gospel, alongside community, in our city throughout the week, and then gather each weekend as a larger church family.

If you would call yourself a committed Christian, then we recommend The Way Intensive – and that you join an Ethos Community after completing The Way Intensive. We are encouraging this so that our Communities have a shared foundation of theology, practice and commitment to following Jesus.
Registration Details
We want everyone to have the chance to grow and connect in community. Small group discipleship was modeled by Jesus with the 12 Apostles and is a key aspect of discipleship.
Within The Way Intensive, we’ll join together for the teaching and then continue the conversation in our small groups. Groups can sign up together, or if you sign up as an individual, we will place you in a group!
